Privacy Policy

PEAR is a macOS app that helps parents learn about possible safety risks in their child's messages. Its AI runs locally on the family Mac. This policy explains what is stored where.

Who the account holder is

The parent or legal guardian who creates the PEAR account is the account holder and is responsible for the account and the Mac it monitors.

Stored only on your Mac

Stored only on your Mac: messages, photos, videos, Safari history, Notes, and PEAR's findings.

Stored on our servers

Stored on our servers: your account email, subscription status, your Mac's health status, and the Telegram chats that receive alerts. No child or message data.

Alerts

Alerts are sent through Telegram and contain only a severity level and a link, never message text.

Phone review links

Phone review links: when you open a password-protected review link (valid for 7 days), the page is served from your Mac through PEAR's relay. That content passes through the relay without being stored.

Service providers (processors)

• Telegram delivers alerts to the parent chats you link.
• Stripe processes subscription payments. Card details go to Stripe; we keep your subscription status and Stripe customer reference.
• Our hosting and email providers store account details and send account emails on our behalf.

What we don't do

No ads, no data sales, and no training on your family's data.

Retention

We keep account, subscription and Mac health records while your account is open. Alert-delivery records hold no message content and are kept only as long as needed to run and secure the service. Content on your Mac stays under your control there.

Deletion requests

To delete your account and the data we hold on our servers, contact us through the support page or at support@pearai.app. Data on your Mac can be removed by deleting PEAR from that Mac.
